post for blog
Hey Ben, I like this site for remembering your sister. I have a
contribution I want to make.

Pam always had a smile on her face. I distinctly remember the last
few times I spoke with her, here on the campus of Gardner-Webb
University, and she was always upbeat and smiling. One of the most
special experiences I have had in my life occured with Pam and her
boyfriend, Walter.
Pam, Walter, my girlfriend Leanna and I were hiking on a day so
foggy you could only see about 50-75 feet in front of you. Having been
warned by the trail official that on days like this you can see no view
whatsoever at the top, the 4 of us still struck out, wanting to
fellowship with God and with each other. I can still see Pam and Walter
stopping to dance in the middle of the trail, smiling and laughing.
Unbeknownst to me, Pam and Walt had stopped and prayed that we would be
able to see the waterfall at the top.
After awhile we had ascended the peak of the mountain and paused to
look over the view....fog everywhere you could see. No view at all. We
rested, clowned around some and jokingly took pictures with the
"waterfall" in the background (complete fog). When about 30 minutes had
gone by we decided to go back down the trail. Leanna turned around one
last time and shriked "Oh look, you can see the waterfall!!" Sure
enough, the fog had lifted just enough for us to see a dim vision of the
beautiful water. Pam went crazy, exclaiming that she and Walter had
prayed for that very thing. Tears started streaming down her face as the
fog gradually piled up on either side of the falls, leaving a perfectly
clear view. We all sang praise to God for his wonderous works, and after
spending another 30 minutes and taking even more pictures, we left again.
But the story doesn't end there. We turned to go, and Pam took one
last look at the falls, and gasped, asking us to turn back around. We
all watched, dumbfounded as within about 60 seconds, the fog came back
and completely covered the falls we were just viewing, returning to the
state that was there when we first arrived.
Pam prayed and believed, and her prayers were answered. I can still
see her happy face, tears coming down as she saw God perform a miracle
right in front of us. I will never forget this experience, or the strong
faith represented in that woman of God. I consider myself extremely
blessed to have witnessed this event.
