Psalms 4

Answer me when I call to you, oh my righteous God.
Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayer.
How long, O men, will you turn My glory into shame? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods?
Know that the Lord has set apart the godly for himself, the Lord will hear when I call to Him.
In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent.
Offer right sacrifices and trust in the Lord.
Many are asking, "Who can show us any good?"
Let the light of Your face shine upon us, O Lord.
You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound.
I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Pam Darnell was a blessing to me simply by being my friend, and being an encourager. I met her my first summer in Mooresville at training for CYC, a Christian club. There I found out that she knew many other people in my church, and went to school where my sister was going the next year.

I didn't think too much of it until I found out that she went to Gardner-Webb, one of the schools I was thinking about attending. I kept in touch with her some during my senior year of high school, and she took me on a tour of the school and introduced me to people when I came to visit. Her joy could always make those around her smile and feel the same joy, the joy that truly comes from Jesus Christ.

During my two years at GWU, Pam continued to be an encouragement to me every time I saw her, and to be my friend. I am glad I was able to meet and spend time with Pam, and that I was at GWU those years with her. Even though it is hard for us all as we lose such a blessing, it will also bring us comfort and joy to know that she is with her Savior. He is the only One able to give us peace and make us dwell in safety when we trust Him.
