the ever-so-wonderful
Pam was in the very first play i ever directed. i was a freshman,
never directed a piece before in my life. she was cast the main role
in the play "equal opportunity employer," commonly known as "the
puppet play," in the new plays festival 2004. honestly, i couldn't
have asked for a better lead. she never argued, even though she was my
superior as far as class rank went. she even said a "dirty work" in
that play because she respected her director's decision to use
profanity. she was a dream to work with.
also, Pam and i were supposed to go to the final five iron frenzy
show. we ended up not going. when i saw her the day of the concert,
she ran up and grabbed me screaming, "i can't believe we're missing
it!" later that week she told me that maybe she should have missed
class for the concert. her exact words were, "i'm growing up too
quickly, we should have just been irresponsible kids, it would have
been much more fun."
